    SCCSFA Adult Archery Classes for Members and Family of Members

    The Archery Committee is conducting a class for Adult Beginner Level Archers. This Course is for Members and Family of Members who are at least 18 years old. 

    Purpose is to help the archer build basic skills with more advanced techniques, with an emphasis on consistency, accuracy and the understanding of different shooting styles.

    This course will consist of three class sessions class beginning on Wednesday June 3rd from 7pm to 9pm. The second and third classes are also on a Wednesday Evenings, June 10th and the 17th. The cost for this class is $30.

    Archery equipment will be available for participants, or you may bring your own equipment.

    Class will only hold 14 students and is expected to fill quickly. Register early to secure your spot.

    (There will be a wait list but enrollment is not guaranteed.)

    Maryland Wear & Carry RENEWAL Course (Instructor-Led, 8 hour course)

    Open to SCCSFA Members and Guests

    Cost:

    $150 for Members

    $170 for Guests


    Course Overview:

    NOTE: You must already have a valid MD Wear & Carry permit to take this class.

    NOTE: US military veterans are exempt from this course, and can apply to MD on their own for a Wear & Carry permit renewal.

    This renewal course will reinforce the proper mindset and understanding of necessary tactics to use firearms to defend home, family, and freedom.

    This is a one-day course.  Day 1 will be classroom from 9:00am-12:30pm, then 25 yard range from 1:15pm-5:00pm.

    The State of Maryland requires 8 hours of training to renew your permit.

    Curriculum in the Classroom:

    1. Laws relating to:

    a. Self-defense

    b. Defense of others

    c. Defense of property

    2. Safe storage of firearms

    3. Circumstances under which an individual becomes prohibited from possessing a firearm

    4. Requirements and options for surrendering, transferring, or otherwise disposing of a firearm after becoming prohibited

    5. Requirements for reporting a loss or theft of a firearm

    6. Firearms and accessories banned under state and federal law

    7. Types of firearms that require a special permit

    8. Law prohibiting straw purchase.

    9. Law concerning armed trespass

    10. Locations where a person is prohibited from possessing a firearm regardless of whether a person possesses a permit

    11. Transportation of firearms

    12. Home firearm safety

    13. Handgun mechanisms and operations

    14. Conflict de-escalation and resolution

    15. Anger management

    16. Suicide prevention

    Curriculum on the Range:

    Students will be instructed to keep their firearms in a bag, case, or holster until they are at the firing line until they are told it is okay to get it out. On the firing line, we will initially start with dryfire practice, and make any necessary corrections to grip, stance, and holster work. We then work through a series of practical live fire shooting exercises. The range portion concludes with the required 25-round Maryland Wear and Carry permit qualification.

    What Students Should Bring:

    • handgun
    • holster (if you have one)
    • 150 rounds of ammunition
    • ear and eye protection
    • lunch
    • plenty of water 

    What to wear on the Range:

    Clothing for movement, long pants, closed-toe shoes, long sleeve shirt and baseball hat, eye, ear protection

     In these situations, we ask that participants notify the organizer of their need to cancel a training or event as soon as possible via email. 

     Similarly, the SCCSFA education committee will, on occasion, find it necessary to cancel an event. When this need arises, we are committed to taking positive steps to alert you to the cancellation as soon as possible. 

     Should a participant who has registered for an event need to cancel: 

    • Please send cancellation details to the event organizer by email or by telephone.
    • Notification up to two weeks prior to an event will provide a full refund.
    • Notification of cancellation less than two weeks prior to an event will result in a service fee of 25% plus credit card processing fee If the opening in the event is not filled from the wait list.
    • If you have registered for an event or training and do not attend without notifying the organizer of your cancellation the full fee will be payable and non-refundable.

    Open to SCCSFA Members and Guests

    Cost:

    $300 for Members

    $320 for Guests


    Course Overview:

    NOTE: US military veterans are exempt from this course, and can apply to MD on their own for a Wear & Carry permit.

    The objective of this comprehensive safety course is to provide the student with the knowledge required to safely own, carry, and shoot a firearm. It is designed to exceed Maryland’s training requirements for both residents and non-residents of the State seeking to apply for their Maryland license to properly wear and carry a handgun.

    This course will teach the proper mindset and understanding of necessary tactics to use firearms to defend home, family, and freedom.

    This is a two-day course.  Day 1 will be classroom from 9:00am-12:30pm, then 25 yard range from 1:15pm-5:00pm.  The second day will be all classroom (9:00am-5:00pm).

    The State of Maryland requires 16 hours of training, which will also fulfill all topics required to apply for a Delaware permit to carry, making this a two for one. If you do not need a DE permit, it is still good to have knowledge of the neighboring state laws, or a refresher.

    Delaware Concealed Carry Course (Instructor-Led, 8 hour course)

    Open to SCCSFA Members and Guests

    Cost:

    $200 for Members

    $220 for Guests


    Course Overview:

    NOTE: You must be a Delaware resident to acquire a Delaware Concealed Carry permit.  If you are not a Delaware resident, this course WILL provide the necessary training to apply for a Florida Concealed Carry permit (which enables you to carry concealed in Delaware).  You can also sign up for the full MD Wear and Carry class, which will enable you to apply for both MD and DE permits.

    The objective of this comprehensive safety course is to provide the student with the knowledge required to legally own, carry, and shoot a firearm. It is designed to exceed Delaware’s training requirements for residents seeking to apply for their Delaware license to carry a concealed deadly weapon.

    This course will teach the proper mindset and understanding of necessary tactics to use firearms to defend home, family, and freedom.

    This is an eight-hour course which includes live-fire training on the range and classroom instruction. Required items: handgun (rentals available), holster (if you have one), 150 rounds of ammunition, ear and eye protection, plenty of water.

    Curriculum in the Classroom:

    Sunday Trap Shoot - Open to the public. 

    SCCSFA Members may begin to Sign-Up at 11:30 and shooting Trap starts at Noon. 
    This is an “Open trap” event, open to the public. Non-Members may begin to Sign-Up at 12 Noon.
    Cost is $5.00 for a 25 targets round. You just need to bring gun and ammo.
    Your ammunition must be Low-Brass and the shot size must be 71/2, 8 or 9.
