WWII Rifle Competition for Member's Only 

The competition will be held on Saturday July 11th at 100-Yard Range. Registration is at 9:30 AM, Safety Briefing at 9:45, and the competition begins at 10 AM.

ELIGIBILITY: The match is open to SCCSFA members only. Youths under the age of 18 who are children or legal wards of a member may also participate. The member parent/guardian must be present for the entire time. A maximum of 12 members and 4 youths will be permitted to sign up. All participants must have waivers on file.

EQUIPMENT:

- Only rifles types in use by any military between 1939 and 1945 may be used.

- Rifles may be bolt action or semi-automatic.

Only bags may be used for front support and a squeeze bag as a rear support.

- Sighting system must be of as-issued type iron sights.

THE GAME:

- The match will consist of 1 round of shooting from the bench using bags and 1 round of shooting from a standing off-hand position.

- One SR-1C target (100 yd reduction of 200 yd target) will be mounted for each bench position for each round.

THE PROCEDURE:

- There will be one shooter at each bench position. Shooters will have 5 minutes to complete a round. (10 shots per round)

- Subsequent relays of shooters will follow the same procedure.

- The second round will be shot from the standing position.


Range Control: 

The match director shall conduct a briefing and explain all commands and procedures..

- A minimum of 2 RSO’s will be present. The match director may also act as a RSO. RSO’s shall be NRA certified RSO’s or instructors.

- Rifles shall be uncased at the benches with muzzles pointed downrange. Chamber flags shall immediately be put in.

- The match director or designated RSO shall give the command to load and make ready. No more than 10 rounds may be loaded in any rifle.

- The Commence Fire command shall be given and the 5 minute clock will be started. Shooters are free to engage targets.

- When all shooters are finished or the clock reaches 5 minutes (whichever occurs first), the Cease Fire command shall be given. Any unused ammunition will be unloaded and chamber flags will be put in. After RSO’s determine that all rifles are clear and safe, the shooters will be instructed to move their rifles to the racks. Rifles shall be held with muzzles pointing up while being moved.

- After rifles are safely stowed, subsequent relays of shooters will be instructed to take their rifles to the benches and follow the same procedure.

- When finished with the last round, rifles will be unloaded and cased at the bench.

This is a “fun match” with no material prizes.

Cancellations – Cancellations will be accepted but no refund is given.
